How We Score

Each scanner uses a different scoring model, but they all consider:

Demand Signal — Rating count, download velocity, and active user indicators.
Competition Gap — How many quality alternatives exist? Fewer = better opportunity.
Pain Intensity — Negative review analysis — what users are complaining about and how loudly.
Feasibility — Can an indie developer realistically build this? Simple beats complex.

  • App Store RSS Reviews — Recent reviews analyzed for pain signals and sentiment
  • AI Analysis — Automated scoring, opportunity assessment, and rebuild roadmaps

How often is the data updated?

Scanners run weekly. Pro members get access to the latest data as soon as it's available.

What countries do you cover?

Currently: US, UK, Japan, Taiwan, and Germany. More countries coming based on demand.

Is this only for iOS?

Currently yes. We scan the iOS App Store. Google Play support is on the roadmap.

What makes this different from Sensor Tower or App Annie?

Those tools track top-performing apps for enterprise teams. We find opportunities for indie developers — the abandoned, underserved, and overlooked corners of the App Store.
